Child Protection Training at Focus on the Family

Join us to learn more about abuse and child protection for ministry leaders. We believe that child protection is important for ministry leaders because every person is created in the image of God. Furthermore, we believe that child protection is a matter of Great Commission significance and biblical stewardship.

Join us for this child protection workshop to learn the basics of child protection and tap into several resources to help your ministry protect the least of these. Start with a free assessment resource provided by ECAP to see how your Child Protection Program measures up.

Objectives:

• Raise awareness for abuse prevention and child protection 
• Provide ministry leaders with resources to assist them in prevention 
• Connect ECAP with area churches 
• Support the work of Focus on the Family by strengthening churches and creating healthy places for kids to hear the gospel and grow in discipleship.

Presenters: 

Theresa Sidebotham assists organizations in the U.S. and internationally, with a special focus on employment law, religious and nonprofit law, and child safety. She advises on numerous misconduct investigations. She is also the founder of Telios Law PLLC. Theresa was mentored by judges at the Colorado Court of Appeals and worked at a large law firm serving religious institutions and doing general litigation before opening Telios Law. She has since gone on to represent a variety of businesses, ministries, churches, and individual clients in matters ranging from child protection to employment to civil rights and more. Her cross-cultural experience helps her serve ministries and businesses well, particularly in negotiating employment problems and conducting internal investigations into misconduct allegations.

Jeff Dalrymple is an organizational leader whose leadership experience includes roles in public safety, higher education, non-governmental organizations, and parachurch ministry. Jeff served as a vice president at Southern Seminary in Louisville from 2008-2016. He is an elder at Sunrise Community Church (EFCA) and owner of Lumino Global Consulting and Coaching. In addition to implementing child protection programs at several ministries, his experience includes team building, development/fundraising, hospitality, international relations, strategic planning, and revitalization. Jeff enjoys reading, exploring, and spending time with his wife Kristil and kids, JJ, Kassie, Katherine, and Kylie.
