DESCRIPTION:Is porn a problem in your ministry? How would you know? A recent Barna study has shown that the number of Christians struggling with this sin is growing. The myth that “church members are less likely to have a problem with porn” tends to keep the subject out of church circles. Christians know that it’s wrong\, but they are often afraid to ask for help. And ministry leaders want to help\, but they aren’t sure how to address the issue. \n\n\n\nCreating a culture of hope where safety and transparency are available can help turn this “taboo topic” into a launchpad for healing. Featuring Dr. Dee Dee Mayer from the Boone Center for the Family at Pepperdine University\, join us on this webinar to engage an honest conversation regarding the impact of pornography in the church.   \n\n\n\nIn this 90 minute session\, you will learn: \n\n\n\n\nup to date statistics on the issue of pornography and its impact\n\n\n\nthe impact of hidden sins on life\, family\,  and relationships\n\n\n\nthe impact of pornography on culture\n\n\n\nthe consequences to the church of remaining silent \n\n\n\nstrategies for an effective ministry response both in the congregation and among your ministry leaders\n\n\n\n\nThis event will be free for ECAP Members and $20 for non-members.  \n\n\n\nEach registrant will recieve a FREE copy of Rescue Plan: Charting a Course to Restore Prisoners of Pornography by Jonathan Holmes and Deepak Reju. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout our Presenters:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDyonette “Dee Dee” Mayer is the Director of the RelateStrong program for the Boone Center for the Family. She is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in private practice for over twenty years specializing in treating couples\, women in leadership\, and families. \n\n\n\nShe earned a Doctor in Ministry from Azusa Pacific University studying healthy leadership in ministry contexts. She has over 20 years of experience providing organizational leadership and program management in academic and community health environments. She is passionate about supporting ministry leaders and congregations in developing strong and healthy relationships. \n\n\n\nPrior to joining the Boone Center for the Family\, Dee Dee served at Oaks Christian School as the Associate Head of School for Spiritual Life investing in spiritual formation and discipleship for youth and families. She also served as co-host for Movieguide TV supporting parents and families in making media-wise choices. \n\n\n\nDee Dee loves to help couples and individuals prepare their relationships for life and leadership as they build character\, cultivate healthy attachments\, and grow in compassion towards self and others. Dee Dee loves to teach through God’s word and encourage people towards a transformational relationship with Jesus Christ. She is a published author\, regular guest on national radio programs\, and a sought-after public speaker.
