SUMMARY:Creating a Response Plan Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Having a plan for how your organization would respond to a discovery of abuse is invaluable. Whether the abuse were to be perpetrated by someone within your organization or someone without\, how you respond will impact the victim’s recovery\, perpetrator’s sentence\, and your organization’s reputation. \n\n\n\nJoin us as we engage in a discussion about what elements you should include in your church or ministry’s response plan so that you may respond biblically and lawfully if an allegation of abuse were to arise. \n\n\n\nWe don’t like to think about the fact that one of our own could be abused in our care or that one of our own could be an abuser. But that is precisely why it is so vital to create and maintain an abuse response plan while heads are clear\, and hearts are not burdened by the sorrow that comes when abuse is uncovered. \n\n\n\nAlthough we do everything in our power to protect kids and prevent abuse\, on this side of heaven it still happens. You don’t want to be caught on your heels when faced with such a heavy\, heartbreaking situation. \n\n\n\nLet us come alongside you to give guidance on how to build a response plan that works for you and your specific ministry context. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPresenters:  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmber Privett is a faithful follower of Christ and a licensed clinical social worker. In her work she helps abuse survivors navigate their stories and find healing. She owns Amber Privett Counseling and serves clients all over the state of Florida. Throughout her career\, she has played a pivotal role in numerous child abuse prevention initiatives\, anti-trafficking efforts\, and family preservation. She is a BCM graduate and serves on the advisory council for Safe Families for Children’s Florida and Tampa efforts. She currently calls Tampa\, Florida home. \n\n\n\nWhile Amber desires to create a safer world for the most vulnerable among us\, she most ardently desires that the church be a space where abuse survivors can experience the comfort\, love\, and peace of God. This has led her to her work as both a consultant and a trainer for local churches. Several churches utilize her services when they a knowledgeable professional experienced in abuse\, mental health\, and trauma-related topics.
