What can Christians do to change these disturbing facts? \n\n\n\nJulie Lowe argues that Christians must lead the way in prevention and response measures to keep kids safe and to respond with the hope of the gospel. Julie is a licensed professional counselor who brings over twenty years of counseling experience to help equip parents to become aware of this issue\, and equip their children to recognize\, respond\, and report immoral behavior from an adult. \n\n\n\nSafeguards 4 Kids will help parents and caregivers to have wisdom and discernment in parenting\, and will teach them how to have age-appropriate conversations with their kids about abuse and threats. Julie is a registered play therapist and has developed a play therapy office and resources to serve families and youth. There are many myths associated with human trafficking and those myths distract us from what is really happening to our children right under our noses.  Every day in almost every city in America children are being sold for sex and we can stop it. In this session you will learn what human trafficking looks like in our country and what our response should be. You  We will cover ways to protect children and wrap around those in our communities with specific vulnerabilities. Ending sex trafficking is possible and it all starts with education.  \n\n\n\nOnline Safety\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLike any tool\, the internet and our digital devices can be used for good and ill. Parents and caregivers should be on the front lines to protect children and youth from online threats and exploitation. DESCRIPTION:Not every church is called to minister to convicted sex offenders. When churches minister to sex offenders\, they must implement a careful grace that is based upon an educated understanding of offenders and how they act.  A careful grace starts with putting the needs of children and survivors first.  A careful grace embraces the reality that actions must have consequences.  A careful grace requires church leaders and workers to be trained in child protection\, and our churches to have clear and effective safeguarding policies and procedures.  Only within a context of careful grace can churches effectively care for sex offenders. \n\n\n\nDon’t miss this webinar from attorney Rob Showers who instructs church leaders who to redemptively shepherd the offender while still protecting the vulnerable. Prior to entering private practice in 1989\, Showers served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General and served as Executive Director of the National Obscenity Enforcement Unit (NOEU)\, later called the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS)\, within the US Department of Justice. \n\n\n\nShowers sits on numerous boards. He serves as past president on the national board of directors of Christian Legal Society\, and as chairman of Gateway Community Church. He previously served as a member of the Southern Baptist Convention’s executive committee. \n\n\n\nShowers earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1980. He earned his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 1977.
